The Art Nouveau Brasserie

A must-see brasserie in Saint-Gilles, La Porteuse d'eau is located in a splendid building designed by architect Ernest Blerot, on the corner of Avenue Jean Volders.

The Brasserie (ground floor + first floor) is a true gem of Art Nouveau decoration. Two floors, beautiful light streaming through the stained-glass windows.

Although dating from 1986, the decor of this Art Nouveau brasserie is truly magnificent, with its stained-glass window that explains the sign, its superb monumental staircase lit by a beautifully crafted bay window, and its characterful, comfortably furnished dining rooms spread over two levels.
