A typical Brussels brasserie. The menu includes dishes cooked with beer, more classic preparations such as the timeless Americain préparé (steak tartare), blanquette and some Belgian specialties such as Waterzooi, stew, chicon gratin (braised Belgian chicories) ...
Where better than in Saint-Gilles, a commune friendly to artists, could La Porteuse d'Eau be found in?
La Porteuse d'eau is located in a splendid building designed by architect Ernest Blerot (at the corner of avenue Jean Volders). The Brasserie (ground floor + first floor) is a real jewel of Art Nouveau decoration. There are two floors where a beautiful light passes through the colored-stained glass windows.
Nice beer selection.
The atmosphere and service are very relaxed and the value for money is undeniable.
